Itinerary / Anfahrt
Do you want to come by car? We have enough free parking allowances for directly on the Grand Place. Please ask one from us now! On the way back, follow the other cars. Parking around our apartement is free and easy. If you come by train, it is best to get out at Gare Central for the Grand Place and after that back in to get to Square Ambiorix using métro 5 direction HERRMANN-DEBROUX or 1 direction STOCKEL. Get out at Schuman. Walk rue Archimedes until you reach Square Ambiorix (5min). The 23 is the third high building on the right.
Wenn Ihr mit dem Auto kommen wollt, haben wir ausreichend Parkscheine (für die Windschutzscheibe) mit denen man direkt auf dem Groote Markt parken kann! Bitte jetzt bei uns anfordern, am Sa wird es sonst zu hektisch. Danach einfach der Kolonne folgen! Parken am Ambiorixplatz ist kein Problem. Wer mit dem Zug ankommt, steigt am besten beim Centraalbahnhof aus und geht zu Fuß zum Groote Markt. Zurück kann man den gleichen Weg nehmen, und mit der U5 Richtung HERRMANN-DEBROUX oder U1 Richtung STOCKEL bis Schuman fahren. Dort die Archimedesstraße bis zum Ambiorixpark. Die 23 ist das 3. Hochhaus auf der rechten Seite.

Falls wir mehr als 15 Autos haben, um die St. Michelskirche gibt es viele frei Parkplätze:

Rings are ready! / Die Ringe sind fertig!
After about six hours, lots of sweat but also fun, our wedding rings are ready to use. Self-made!
Nach ungefaehr sechs Stunden, viel Schweiss aber auch viel Spass sind unsere Ringe fertig. Selbstgemacht!

Eastereggs / Ein echtes Osternest
We also wanted to share this one with you. Exactly on Easter Sunday we got a real nest with real eggs directly in front of our window near Munich.
Das wollten wir Euch nicht vorenthalten. Genau zu Ostern haben wir ein Osternest bekommen, und zwar ein echtes, mit echten bunten Eiern.

S(t)o(r)ry about Authorities
Please do not read this post unless you have to.
If you are a German Romanian couple and want to marry in Brussel, you need
1) Patience
2) Time
3) Good will
Before you can go to the town hall to say oui/ja you need to reserve the date timely (such as 6 months in advance) and produce at least three weeks in advance
D1) Cerificat de coutoume
D2) Certificat de nationalite
...
R1) ...

In order to get D1) and D2) you need to show up at the German embassy. Da dies nur Deutsche interressiert, schreibe ich in Deutsch weiter. Das Konsulat stellt also D1 und D2 (in einem) aus, braucht dazu aber
d1) Ehefähigkeitszeugnis aus Deutschland
d1) wiederum erhält man nur bei der letzten Deutschen Heimatgemeinde. Jetzt geht das Spiel aber erst los. Die deutsche Gemeinde benötigt
a1) einen ausgefüllten Antrag (easy)
a2) Eine Personenstandsurkunde der Partnerin aus Rumänien
a3) Eine von einem in Deutschland amtlich anerkannten vereidigten Übersetzer angefertigte Übersetzung von a2). Eine in Rumänien angefertigte Kopie eines in Rumänien amtlich anerkannten Übersetzers reicht nicht, selbst wenn es notariell beglaubigt und mit einer Apostille versehen wurde.
a4) 50 EUR(!)
a5) Internationale (eigene) Geburtsurkunde. Diese erhält man vom Standesamt der Geburtsgemeinde. Die nationale oder die von der Heimatgemeinde ausgestellte Urkunde gilt nicht.
a6) International Geburtsurkunde der rumänischen Partnerin. Seltsamerweise reicht hier die internationale mit Apostille, also keine anerkannte Übersetzung notwendig.

Visitors
We really do not ask you to travel so far, yet if you happen to be here or if combine it with a Brussels trip (incl inside view of marriage hall Grand Place) that you always wanted to do, you are very welcome when we will say "oui" / "ja", in the Brussels town hall (Grande Place) on 27 June at 12:20 and to the following, informal reception, in or in front of our apartment, Square Ambiorix 23, depending on weather. If you won't mind, please indicate whether you'll be around so that we can allocate the proper amount of Romanian and Bavarian food and drinks. First Blog Entry
Hello there,
after a long night (well - short, actually) we've printed 100 announcements of our wedding. 20 mins. before printing, we also included this url. Glad you made it here!

What is the picture about? The left stick is the Endless Column (of Brancusi http://www.freewebs.com/brancusi/Biography.html), the right stick a Bavarian Maibaum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maypole_tradition_in_Bavaria), both indicating our cultural backgrounds. They unify in the sky, through the European Union where the yellow 12-star ring was duplicated to indicate our wedding. The gate below is the Gate of the Kiss, a wedding monument in Romania where you walk through (http://www.respiro.org/Issue15/Art/art_brancusi.htm).
Our friends Iza & Szymon made another logo, which, unfortunately, came just after printing. In any case thanks a lot for the work, and we will certainly use it in our future.
